What does it mean when the ASR light comes on in a car?

ASR stands for Anti-Slip Regulation system, which is an active safety device in vehicles. The ASR warning light may illuminate for the following reasons: 1. Maintenance or removal of tires may cause the ASR warning light to come on. 2. Insufficient tire pressure or a tire leak, which is a relatively common cause of the ASR warning light, requires checking whether the tires are leaking or underinflated. 3. In colder climates, the vehicle's traction may decrease, especially on icy roads causing wheel slip, which can also trigger the ASR warning light. 4. If the vehicle is equipped with an ABS system, it may also cause an ASR fault.
