What does i-stop mean in cars?

i-stop is called automatic start-stop in Chinese, which refers to the engine's start-stop function. It is automatically enabled by default after the vehicle starts. The i-stop switch is located between the steering wheel and the fuel tank switch. When the brake is firmly pressed and the vehicle comes to a stop, the engine shuts off, and a green i-stop indicator light appears on the dashboard. Lightly pressing the accelerator will restart the engine. Its operation is affected by air conditioning and temperature; i-stop may not function when the air conditioning is on or during extremely cold winter temperatures. 1. Additional information: The engine automatic start-stop system is achieved by installing an enhanced motor with idle start-stop capability in a traditional engine, allowing the engine to completely shut off when idle stop conditions are met. 2. Method to turn off i-stop: On the lower left panel of the steering wheel, press and hold this button for more than 2 seconds to toggle each time it is turned on or off. When i-stop is enabled, the dashboard displays i-stop in green. When turned off, the dashboard displays i-stop in orange.
