What does HUD mean?

HUD stands for Head-Up Display, which is a device that projects important driving data onto the windshield using the principle of optical reflection. Originally derived from military fighter jets, it employs holographic projection to display relevant aircraft data onto the glass cockpit canopy, allowing pilots to quickly access information without looking down, thereby enhancing flight safety and gaining an advantage in rapidly changing battlefield conditions. The primary function of HUD in the automotive field is essentially the same as in fighter jets. It can project the following vehicle information during driving: 1. Speed; 2. RPM; 3. Mileage; 4. Lane change assistance; 5. Lane departure warning; 6. Current road signs captured by the camera. These are all projected onto the front windshield (some models, to control costs, only project onto a specially designed glass panel), thereby improving driving safety and helping drivers maintain better focus while driving.
