HDS is Honda's dedicated fault diagnostic tool. HDS (Honda Diagnostic System) is a diagnostic system introduced by Honda since 2002, replacing the previous PGM tester. It allows for more convenient data analysis, enabling more effective fault diagnosis. Reading and clearing fault codes: Reading and clearing freeze frame data. Freeze frame data is the instantaneous data automatically recorded by the electronic control unit when a DTC is generated. Reading data lists: On-board snapshot: The electronic control units of the engine and transmission systems record a snapshot of the data 15 seconds before a DTC is generated. It records data from the engine or transmission system over a certain period. Trip recording: Records data from the engine or transmission system over a certain period. Unlike snapshots, the HDS can be disconnected from the vehicle during data recording, with the HIM recording the data on the go, and then transferring the recorded data from the HIM to the HDS for storage. Actuator testing: Using HDS to directly test various actuators on the vehicle, including immobilizer system matching and smart key system matching.
