What does FR car mean?

FR car refers to front-engine rear-wheel drive, also known as front-engine rear-drive. This type of car is very common on the road, such as the BMW 5 Series, BMW 7 Series, BMW 3 Series, BMW 1 Series imported version, Cadillac ATS-L, Cadillac CT5, Cadillac CT6, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, etc., all of which are front-engine rear-wheel drive cars. Front-engine rear-drive cars have longitudinally mounted engines. A longitudinally mounted engine allows for a more balanced front-to-rear weight distribution of the car. The transmission in longitudinally mounted engine models is also longitudinally mounted, so the weight of the entire powertrain is not concentrated in the front of the car. Additionally, the longitudinally mounted engine and transmission can position the engine further back, which also helps balance the front-to-rear weight distribution of the car. Many front-engine rear-drive cars can achieve a front-to-rear weight distribution ratio of 50:50, which is difficult for front-engine front-drive cars to accomplish.
