What does fault code P1336 represent?

Fault code P1336 indicates a crankshaft position sensor target gear error. It is necessary to perform a target gear error learning procedure for the crankshaft position sensor using a diagnostic scanner, so that the ECU can accurately determine the specific position of the crankshaft rotation and accordingly identify the top dead center of each cylinder. For newly equipped OBD system models, failure to perform gear learning may result in the illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp after engine startup, with fault code P1336 stored when scanned with a diagnostic tool. The learning procedure is as follows: 1. After starting the engine, wait until the engine temperature reaches 60 degrees Celsius, with the vehicle running for more than 10 seconds and all other loads turned off. 2. Access the "Gear Self-Learning" option through the diagnostic tool (after upgrading). 3. Follow the diagnostic tool's instructions to quickly depress the accelerator pedal to the floor and maintain full throttle. At this point, the ECM should perform the gear signal learning. 4. Turn off the engine, disconnect power for 10 seconds, then restart the engine to complete the learning process.
