Exemption from on-site inspection means not having to drive the vehicle to the DMV for annual inspection. Exemption from on-site inspection: This means that the vehicle does not need to be driven to the DMV for annual inspection. Instead, the owner can simply apply for an electronic annual inspection pass via the "Traffic Management 12123" mobile app. This policy only applies to new vehicles that are exempt from inspection for the first 6 years; vehicles older than 6 years do not qualify for this exemption. Important notes: Six-year exemption from inspection does not mean no inspection is required. It only exempts the vehicle from on-site inspection at a testing facility, but the owner still needs to apply for the inspection pass according to the vehicle's inspection cycle. Currently, the 6-year exemption applies to new non-commercial passenger cars, small and micro passenger vehicles, and motorcycles under the preferential policy.
