What does EV mode mean?

EV stands for pure electric driving mode, which is essentially a mode driven by an electric motor. Conventional gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles do not have this mode. EV mode is typically equipped in pure electric vehicles or hybrid vehicles. Additionally, EV also represents electric vehicles. When using EV mode, the fuel engine in hybrid models does not start, thus it cannot charge the battery, resulting in lower range under EV mode. Environmental requirements: It is recommended to use the vehicle within an ambient temperature range of 10~40 degrees Celsius. When the battery level is low, please recharge promptly to ensure sufficient driving range and good acceleration performance. Storage precautions: Do not store the vehicle in an environment above 40 degrees Celsius for an extended period (exceeding 15 days), as this will reduce the service life of the power battery. When using the vehicle: It is advisable to avoid frequent sudden acceleration or deceleration and to choose flat, dry road surfaces for driving. If necessary, turn off high-power electrical equipment such as the air conditioning or adjust the air conditioning temperature to reduce power consumption and increase driving range.
I just bought a hybrid car and have been driving it for a while. I’m deeply impressed by the EV mode. This mode essentially means pure electric mode, where the vehicle is powered solely by the electric motor without using the engine to burn fuel. I love using it in traffic jams or when driving at low speeds in residential areas—the car is extremely quiet with almost no noise, and the acceleration is smooth, making for a great experience. It also saves a lot of money; every time I drive a few kilometers in EV mode, I save a bit on fuel costs, which adds up significantly over time. However, there are a few things to note. For example, when the battery is low, it automatically switches back to hybrid mode, which can disrupt driving continuity. Also, the heating from the air conditioning might be weaker, so the car doesn’t warm up as quickly in winter. Overall, the EV mode is an eco-friendly and practical feature, perfect for city commuting and reducing exhaust emissions.
