What does 'ETC display tag failure' mean?
1 Answers
ETC display tag failure is caused by users privately removing or relocating the OBU device, or by the loosening or detachment of the ETC electronic tag. Since ETC is dedicated to specific vehicles and has a protective interlock during installation, there is a push-button switch on the side tightly attached to the car's front windshield. If this switch button is triggered twice consecutively, it will cause the ETC electronic tag to fail. ETC is an electronic toll collection system, also known as an automatic road toll system. It uses dedicated short-range microwave communication between the vehicle-mounted electronic tag installed on the windshield and the microwave antenna in the ETC lane at toll stations, combined with computer networking technology for backend settlement processing with banks. This achieves the purpose of vehicles paying tolls without stopping when passing through road and bridge toll stations.
