What does engine oil maintenance mean?
1 Answers
Engine oil maintenance refers to the replacement of engine oil when a vehicle reaches a certain mileage. Engine oil is the lubricant used by the engine, composed of base oil and additives. It serves multiple functions such as lubrication and wear reduction, auxiliary cooling, sealing and leak prevention, rust and corrosion protection, as well as shock absorption. Base oil is the primary component of lubricants, determining their fundamental properties. Additives compensate for and enhance the performance deficiencies of the base oil, providing certain new characteristics, making them an essential part of lubricants. Currently, there are three types of engine oils available in the market: conventional mineral oil, semi-synthetic oil, and full-synthetic oil.
