What Does ECU Flashing Mean?
1 Answers
ECU flashing refers to modifying the control program in the engine's ECU or completely rewriting the control program within the ECU. Every car engine has an ECU, which acts as the brain of the engine. The ECU collects information through various sensors and then controls the engine's operation via control mechanisms. This is why the ECU containing the control program is commonly called the engine control unit (ECU). The ECU is typically used in fuel-injected vehicles to control parameters such as fuel injection quantity and air-fuel mixture ratio. It consists of a microcontroller and peripheral circuits, where the microcontroller integrates a microprocessor, memory, and input/output interfaces on a single chip.
