What does ECAS system failure mean?
1 Answers
ECAS failure indicates a malfunction in the air suspension system that requires repair. The Electronically Controlled Air Suspension (ECAS) system for buses/trucks consists of components such as the ECAS electronic control unit, solenoid valves, height sensors, air springs, etc. Function of height sensors: The height sensors are responsible for detecting changes in vehicle height. The electronic control unit receives input information, determines the current vehicle status, and activates the solenoid valves to regulate inflation and deflation of the air springs. With increasing demands for vehicle ride comfort and advancements in bus/truck suspension technology, air suspension systems are being more widely adopted in buses/trucks. ECAS overview: Traditional air suspension control systems use mechanical height valves, which maintain constant vehicle ride height by adjusting inflation and deflation of air springs through the opening and closing of height valve mechanisms.
