D/S± in automatic transmission refers to the manual mode of the gearbox. In the D/S gear position, pushing the gear lever to the right activates the manual mode. Pushing forward towards "+" shifts up a gear, while pulling backward towards "-" shifts down a gear. To protect the transmission in manual mode, manual gear shifting is also restricted. When shifting up manually, the transmission will only upshift when the engine reaches the maximum RPM corresponding to the current gear. Conversely, when downshifting manually, the transmission will only downshift if the engine speed does not exceed the limit. A manual-automatic transmission not only has automatic shifting capabilities but also simulates manual gear shifting. Its introduction allows more car models to break free from the constraints of traditional automatic transmissions, giving drivers the freedom and enjoyment of manual gear shifting.

How to Bleed Air from the BMW X5 Coolant System?

Method for bleeding air from the BMW X5 coolant system: 1. Press the brake pedal of the BMW X5 to prepare for engine start; 2. Press the one-touch start button of the BMW X5 to start the engine; 3. Run the engine until the water temperature reaches 90 degrees, then turn off the engine; 4. Let the BMW X5 engine sit until the water temperature drops to normal temperature; 5. Pull the front hood release lever; 6. Lift the engine hood upwards; 7. Slowly unscrew the small water tank cap to release gas from the cooling system; 8. Top up the coolant to the MAX line. Precautions for coolant replacement: 1. After draining the coolant, tighten the drain switches on the cylinder block and radiator; 2. Fill the radiator with the specified coolant from the filler port until the coolant level in the reservoir reaches the specified height; 3. Close the radiator cap, run the engine to normal operating temperature, then shut it off and let it cool to room temperature; 4. Check the reservoir level again and add coolant as needed until no air bubbles appear in the reservoir during engine idle operation.

Can a Sedan Trunk Carry a Load of 600 Jin?

A sedan cannot carry a load of 600 jin. Generally, the load capacity of a sedan is around 500 jin, and carrying 600 jin would already constitute overloading for a sedan. Below are the impacts of overloading on a car: 1. Reduced braking performance and increased non-safe zone distance: There are many factors affecting a car's braking distance, among which the change in vehicle load directly influences the length of the braking distance. Overloaded cars, due to increased inertia, have longer braking distances. The extension of the non-safe zone distance can easily lead to traffic accidents. 2. Shortened lifespan of leaf springs and reduced vehicle passability: Due to overloading, the leaf springs are subjected to excessive force and continuously rebound during driving, which will shorten their lifespan. Moreover, the excessive load causes the vehicle to sink overall, reducing the ground clearance and diminishing the car's passability. 3. Accelerated tire wear and deformation: Car tires are designed and manufactured based on the total weight of the vehicle, with a considerable safety factor. However, when a car is overloaded, the tires bear excessive weight and deform. Simultaneously, increased friction also leads to a shortened tire lifespan.

How to Locate and Replace the Cabin Air Filter?

Methods to locate and replace the cabin air filter: 1. Some cabin air filters are located under the front windshield of the car, covered by a drainage trough. To replace the filter, first open the engine hood, remove the clips securing the drainage trough, and then take off the trough to reveal the cabin air filter; 2. For most household sedans, the cabin air filter is situated in the glove compartment under the windshield on the passenger side, making it extremely convenient to replace. Simply remove the glove compartment to access the cabin air filter inside. Functions of the cabin air filter: 1. Ensures the filter fits tightly against the housing, preventing unfiltered air from entering the cabin; 2. Separates solid impurities such as dust, pollen, and abrasive particles from the air; 3. Provides strong and long-lasting moisture absorption; 4. Prevents the car windows from fogging up, ensuring clear visibility for drivers and passengers and enhancing driving safety; 5. Maintains clean air in the passenger compartment, preventing bacterial growth and creating a healthy environment.

Where is the car's tachometer located?

The car's tachometer is installed inside the instrument panel, symmetrically placed alongside the speedometer. The tachometer operates based on magnetic principles, receiving pulse signals generated when the primary current in the ignition coil is interrupted, and converting this signal into a displayable rotational speed value. The tachometer's numbers range from 1 to 8, with the indicated number multiplied by 1000 representing the engine's RPM. The tachometer visually displays the engine's rotational speed under various operating conditions, allowing the driver to always be aware of the engine's performance, determine the optimal shifting time to coordinate with the gear and throttle position, maintain the best working condition, reduce fuel consumption, and extend the engine's lifespan.

How long is the warranty period for cars now?

Most automobile manufacturers now implement a new vehicle warranty policy, which is typically two years or 60,000 kilometers, whichever comes first. The car warranty period refers to the time frame during which the car manufacturer provides free repairs and maintenance for faults caused by quality issues when selling the product to consumers. Here is more information about car warranties: 1. During the warranty period, not all vehicle repair costs are waived. It depends on the free items specified by the manufacturer during the warranty period. Usually, there are relevant descriptions in the owner's manual and the after-sales departments of various car 4S stores. Therefore, car owners are advised to carefully read the manual to avoid unnecessary expenses during the warranty period. 2. During the car warranty period, as long as faults or parts damage occur under normal driving conditions as specified, the manufacturer will provide free repairs or replacement of corresponding parts for the owner. However, this does not mean that the car can be "repaired as desired" during the warranty period, nor can it be simply understood as "everything is covered." 3. The commonly mentioned 5-year or 100,000-kilometer warranty mainly applies to the core components of the car, such as the engine, transmission, drivetrain, chassis, etc. The probability of failure in these components is relatively low, and the repair costs are also higher. In five years, the owner's car rarely has problems with these core components.
