The cold bending performance index is distinguished by the bending angle of the specimen (90°, 180°) and the ratio of the bending core diameter d to the specimen thickness (or diameter) a (d/a). The specimen is tested according to the specified bending angle and bending core diameter. If the outer surface of the bent part of the specimen shows no fracture, cracks, or delamination, the cold bending performance is considered qualified. Checking the Uniformity of Steel: The cold bending test is achieved through the plastic deformation at the bent part of the specimen, which can reveal defects such as uneven internal structure, internal stress, and inclusions in the steel. In tensile tests, these defects often go unnoticed due to the redistribution of stress caused by plastic deformation. Therefore, the cold bending test is a relatively stringent test and also a rigorous inspection of the welding quality of steel, capable of revealing cracks and inclusions on the bending surface of welded parts.
