What does 'auto' mean in a car?

In a car, 'auto' refers to the automatic air conditioning mode. When the automatic air conditioning is turned on, the system will control the air outlet temperature based on the sensors inside the car (providing warm air in winter and cool air in summer). Additionally, the driver can adjust the constant temperature setting to control the air conditioning intensity and fan speed. Normally, there is an 'auto' button on the center console. Pressing this button activates the mode, and the driver can then adjust the constant temperature setting based on their personal comfort level. Car air conditioning is an air regulation device installed in vehicles, capable of cooling, heating, ventilating, and purifying the air inside the cabin. It provides a comfortable environment for passengers, reduces driver fatigue, and enhances driving safety.
I noticed the AUTO button in the car, usually located on the climate control system, which means automatic mode. You just need to press it, set a desired temperature like 24°C, and the system will automatically adjust the fan speed and temperature without manual operation. It adjusts based on the cabin temperature detected by sensors, making driving much more effortless and convenient. In cold winters, when AUTO is activated, it first blows hot air and then reduces the airflow once the cabin warms up; it works similarly in hot summers. I also found that it intelligently switches between fresh air and recirculation modes to keep the air fresher. However, it's worth noting that on dusty roads, it's better to manually switch to recirculation mode. Overall, it feels very easy to use without constant manual adjustments.
