What does Aoff mean in a car?

Car Aoff is the button to turn off the auto start-stop function. The auto start-stop function can reduce exhaust emissions and save fuel, and many cars are now equipped with it. Cars equipped with the auto start-stop function have a button to turn it off. Pressing the button can disable the auto start-stop. The auto start-stop off button is a circle with an A inside and "off" below the circle, which means turning off the auto start-stop. For cars with the auto start-stop function, when waiting at a red light, as long as the battery has sufficient power and the engine water temperature reaches the normal temperature, the system will shut down the engine. If the battery power is insufficient, the auto start-stop system will not work. When the auto start-stop system cannot function, the indicator light on the dashboard will flash yellow. If the auto start-stop system is working normally, the indicator light on the dashboard will flash green.
You see the A OFF button on the car? That's the auto start-stop deactivation switch. Most modern cars come with auto start-stop functionality, which automatically shuts off the engine at red lights or during temporary stops to save fuel, then restarts when you press the accelerator. While theoretically saving 5%-10% fuel, in practice it can be annoying—especially during traffic jams with frequent stop-starts, making the car jerk uncomfortably. Plus, with AC on in summer, cooling becomes ineffective after engine shutdown. So I usually turn this feature off right after starting the car, particularly when driving in urban areas. However, it's quite useful during highway rest stops—keeping things quiet while saving fuel.
