
A timing chain synchronizes the rotation of your car's crankshaft and camshaft(s) to ensure the engine's valves open and close at the correct times during the intake and exhaust strokes. In simple terms, it makes sure the engine's breathing is perfectly coordinated with the movement of its pistons.
