A cumulative driving license score of 0 indicates that no points have been deducted yet. If the license is used to handle vehicle violations, corresponding points will be recorded. If the vehicle has multiple violation records, the points recorded on the driving license will accumulate. Score reaches 12 points: If a motor vehicle driver accumulates 12 points within a scoring cycle, the traffic management department of the public security authority shall detain their motor vehicle driving license. The motor vehicle driver must attend a seven-day study session on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge at the traffic management department of the public security authority where the driving license was issued or where the violation occurred within fifteen days. After completing the study, the vehicle management office shall conduct an examination on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge within twenty days. If the examination is passed, the points will be cleared, and the motor vehicle driving license will be returned. If the examination is not passed, the driver must continue studying and retaking the examination. If the driver refuses to participate in the study or take the examination, the traffic management department of the public security authority will announce the suspension of their motor vehicle driving license. Score reaches 24 points: If a motor vehicle driver accumulates 12 points or more twice within a scoring cycle or accumulates 24 points or more, the vehicle management office shall also conduct a road driving skills test within ten days after the driver passes the examination on road traffic safety laws, regulations, and related knowledge. The road driving skills test shall be conducted according to the highest permitted vehicle type specified on the driver's motor vehicle driving license. Score below 12 points: If a motor vehicle driver accumulates fewer than 12 points within a scoring cycle and all fines have been paid, the points will be cleared. If the points are fewer than 12 but there are unpaid fines, the points will carry over to the next scoring cycle.
