Differential lock refers to a mechanism that, when one driving wheel slips, locks the differential housing and the axle shaft into one unit, causing the differential to lose its differential function and transferring all torque to the other driving wheel. The full name of the differential lock is the central differential lock, which is a locking mechanism installed on the central differential and used in four-wheel-drive vehicles. The function of the differential lock is to improve the vehicle's ability to pass through poor road conditions, meaning that when one driving axle of the vehicle spins freely, it can quickly lock the differential, turning the two driving axles into a rigid connection. This allows most or even all of the torque to be transmitted to the non-slipping driving axle, fully utilizing its adhesion to generate sufficient traction, enabling the vehicle to continue moving.

What is the Difference Between Part-Time 4WD and Full-Time 4WD?

Part-time 4WD and full-time 4WD mainly differ in the following aspects: 1. Part-time 4WD is only used in some hardcore or professional off-road vehicles, with the drawback of causing more wear and tear on components compared to the other two types (on-demand 4WD and full-time 4WD) when driving on roads; the driver can manually operate the control lever to select low-range 4WD, high-range 4WD, low-range 2WD, high-range 2WD, etc.; 2. Full-time 4WD has the most complex structure and, as the name suggests, operates in four-wheel drive under all conditions, commonly found in performance vehicles; its drawbacks include higher fuel consumption and, generally speaking, less power than part-time 4WD.

How to Distinguish Between Full Synthetic Oil and Semi-Synthetic Oil?

Distinguishing between full synthetic oil and semi-synthetic oil can be done by checking the packaging: full synthetic oil will be labeled as 'full synthetic,' while semi-synthetic oil will be labeled as 'synthetic oil.' The functions of engine oil are: 1. To reduce friction and high temperatures; 2. To minimize gas leakage and prevent contamination from external pollutants; 3. To protect parts from contact with water, air, acidic gases, and other harmful substances; 4. To cushion the pressure rise in the engine cylinder; 5. To clean away dirt generated on the surfaces of working parts. Signs that indicate the need for an oil change include: 1. Checking the oil viscosity—if it lacks viscosity, the oil needs to be replaced; 2. The oil color turns black; 3. Excessive black particles, metal shavings, or carbon deposits in the oil; 4. An unusual smell from the oil.

Will it be a problem if the chassis is scratched?

If the chassis is scratched, as long as the speed during the scratch is not high and the sound of the scratch is not loud, there will generally be no problem, as the chassis has a certain impact resistance. The chassis is composed of the transmission system, running system, steering system, and braking system. Its functions are: to support and install the car engine and its various components and assemblies, forming the overall shape of the car, bearing the engine power, and ensuring normal driving. The maintenance methods for the car chassis are: 1. Regularly check the condition of the car tires; 2. Periodically clean and wash the car chassis; 3. Regularly inspect the operation of various parts of the vehicle chassis; 4. Inspection and maintenance of the car shock absorbers.
