What do R, N, and D gears mean?

R stands for Reverse gear, N stands for Neutral gear, and D stands for Drive gear. The specific gear functions are introduced as follows: P (Parking gear): Used when the car is parked and not in use. In this position, the wheels are mechanically locked to prevent the car from rolling. R (Reverse gear): Primarily used when the car needs to move backward.
