What Causes Wiper Blade Chatter?

Wiper blade chatter can be caused by the following reasons: Improper contact surface: An uneven contact surface between the wiper blade and windshield may occur when part of the rubber blade is excessively pressed against the glass while another section receives insufficient pressure. This creates uneven force distribution during wiper operation, resulting in localized blade chatter. Contaminated wiper surface: Foreign particles or dirt on either the wiper blade or windshield surface, or an uneven glass surface, can cause significantly increased resistance at certain wiping positions, leading to chatter. Wiper blade aging: The rubber element of wiper blades naturally hardens with use. This aging process reduces proper glass adhesion, causing vibration during operation.
