What Causes Window Tint Fading?
1 Answers
The primary factor causing tint film fading is ultraviolet (UV) radiation, which damages dyes and pigments. How to distinguish quality window films: High-quality security films exhibit uniform, soft coloration without wave-like color variations. The view from inside the vehicle remains natural without color distortion. In contrast, ordinary colored films have pigments directly mixed into the adhesive layer - when scratching the adhesive surface after removing the protective plastic layer, color will peel off. Window tint maintenance tips: After installation: 1) Avoid rolling windows up/down for one week as this may cause film displacement; 2) Front/rear window films require about one month to fully cure - park facing sunlight during daytime; 3) Do not activate rear defroster for one month as heat may cause bubbling around heating elements.
