What Causes Water to Enter the Car During Rain?
1 Answers
The reasons for water entering the car during rain include: 1. Poor sealing of the door inner panel, requiring adhesive reinforcement; 2. Blocked drainage holes at the bottom of the door, needing to be cleared; 3. For vehicles with sunroofs, debris clogging the sunroof drainage channels, requiring cleaning; 4. Water entering the air intake ducts between the front engine hood and wipers, with debris like leaves blocking the side drains, necessitating cleaning. If the vehicle stalls due to water ingress during wading, immediately turn off the ignition switch. Do not attempt to restart the engine. Move the vehicle to a safe location, preferably with the front higher than the rear, to allow water in the exhaust pipe to drain and prevent damage to the catalytic converter and muffler.
