What Causes the Steering Wheel to Become Lighter?
1 Answers
The reasons for the steering wheel becoming lighter are: 1. The thermal stability of the circuit controlling the electronic power steering system has deteriorated, requiring inspection and repair at a service center; 2. Prolonged use of the steering wheel leads to reduced lubrication performance of parts and accumulation, making components of the steering system lighter; 3. High tire pressure in the car tires results in less resistance, also making the steering feel lighter; 4. Sticking brake pads can also cause the steering wheel to feel lighter. The steering wheel is a wheel-shaped device used to control the direction of cars, ships, and airplanes, functioning to convert the force applied by the driver on the edge of the steering wheel into torque, which is then transmitted to the steering shaft. The steering wheel mainly consists of a skeleton, foam, and corresponding mounting clips or screw holes for the driver's airbag (DAB).
