What Causes the Steering Noise in BYD Tang?
1 Answers
BYD Tang steering noise may be caused by lack of oil in the shock absorber's plane bearing, loose stabilizer bar bushings, or steering gear failure. Lack of oil in the shock absorber's plane bearing: Open the hood and listen to see if the sound is coming from the top of the shock absorber. If the noise is from the plane bearing, you can apply some grease to the plane bearing. Loose stabilizer bar bushings: Check if the stabilizer bar bushings are loose or damaged. Loose or damaged stabilizer bar bushings will not only cause noise when turning the steering wheel but also make sounds when driving on uneven roads. Loose stabilizer bar bushings can be fixed by adding shims. Steering gear failure: If you hear a "clicking" noise when turning the steering wheel, it may be due to excessive clearance in the steering gear's matching gears, which requires replacing the steering gear.
