What Causes the Squeaking Noise When Depressing the Clutch?

Depressing the clutch with a squeaking noise indicates an issue with the release bearing. When the clutch is not in use, avoid keeping your left foot on the clutch pedal, as this accelerates the wear of the release bearing. Additionally, waiting at a red light with the gear engaged and the clutch pedal depressed increases the wear rate of the release bearing. The release bearing is connected to the clutch pedal. When the driver depresses the clutch pedal, the release bearing presses against the diaphragm spring on the pressure plate, allowing the clutch disc to disengage. When the driver releases the clutch pedal, the release bearing no longer presses against the diaphragm spring on the clutch disc, enabling the clutch disc to engage.
