What Causes the Sound of Sloshing Water When Braking in a Car?

Car braking with a sloshing water sound can be caused by: the sound of circulating water from the water pump, clogged door drainage holes, insufficient antifreeze, a leaking vacuum booster pump, or water ingress in the right side rail. The specific solutions are as follows: Sound of circulating water from the water pump: This is a normal phenomenon. Clogged door drainage holes: This is usually due to accumulated dust or foreign objects blocking the lower drainage holes of the door. The cleaning method involves manually clearing the lower drainage outlets of the door. If foreign objects like small cards or leaves cannot be removed from the outside, the door panel needs to be removed to clean out the debris. Insufficient antifreeze: Some car brands have a heater core inside the vehicle. When the antifreeze is low, a water flow sound may occur. Simply add antifreeze. Leaking vacuum booster pump: Replace the vacuum booster pump. Water ingress in the right side rail: Clear the drainage holes under the right side rail to solve the problem. Alternatively, remove the underbody panel and take out the material blocking the drainage hole.
