What Causes the Shaking After Starting a BMW 2 Series?
1 Answers
Introduction to the causes of shaking after starting a BMW 2 Series: Unstable Oil Pressure: Abnormal fuel pump supply pressure or incorrect readings and poor performance of the intake pressure sensor can cause the vehicle to shake. Solution: Check the oil pressure and replace components if necessary. Aging Engine Components: Vehicle shaking can also be related to aging engine mounts. Engine mounts act as the shock absorption system for the engine, absorbing minor vibrations during operation. If the engine mounts are faulty, these vibrations can transfer to the steering wheel and the cabin, causing shaking at idle. Solution: Replace the components. Severe Engine Carbon Buildup: The most common cause of vehicle shaking is a dirty throttle body or excessive carbon buildup in the fuel injectors. When there is too much carbon buildup inside the engine, the fuel sprayed by the cold-start injector is largely absorbed by the carbon deposits, resulting in an overly lean air-fuel mixture during cold starts and making it difficult to start. Solution: Clean the fuel system and check the idle control valve for carbon buildup, cleaning it promptly if necessary.
