What Causes the Reversing Radar to Have No Image?

The reasons for the reversing camera displaying a black screen include poor line contact and aging of the video power cable. Among these, poor line contact is the most common cause. It is necessary to promptly check the wiring and the connection points installed on the vehicle to see if there is any loose connection. Simply reconnecting the loose parts properly should resolve the issue. Aging of the video power cable is also one of the reasons for the reversing camera displaying a black screen. You can try replacing it with a new power cable. If the problem is resolved, it confirms that the video power cable was indeed the issue. If the reversing camera still does not display after checking the above two scenarios, it may be due to prolonged use of the reversing camera, resulting in poor chip photosensitivity. This not only causes a snowy screen effect but can also lead to a black screen in severe cases. However, such chip abnormalities require inspection, repair, or direct replacement at a repair shop. The reversing camera uses a far-infrared wide-angle camera device installed at the rear of the vehicle. Through the display screen inside the car, obstacles behind the vehicle can be clearly seen. When the reverse gear is engaged, the system automatically activates the high-definition reversing camera at the rear, clearly displaying the situation behind the vehicle on the reversing LCD screen, allowing the driver to accurately assess the rear road conditions.
I've fixed quite a few reversing radar issues. There are many common reasons for image disappearance, such as the camera lens being blocked by dirt or fogged up by moisture, making it impossible to capture clear images; poor wiring connections are another major issue, as loose or corroded connectors can interrupt the signal; blown fuses, especially prone to overloading and melting in rainy weather, are also a common cause; system software errors can lead to a black screen, particularly with aftermarket devices that haven't been properly configured. Don't panic when there's no image—you can rely on radar sound alerts and rearview mirrors to assist with reversing, but it's best to check promptly to avoid accidents. Regularly cleaning the lens and inspecting wiring connectors can prevent these issues. If any problems are found, take your car to a professional repair shop immediately—safety first.
