What Causes the Rear Wheel to Smoke and Get Very Hot?

Prolonged braking or the brake caliper not retracting properly causes friction against the brake disc, leading to overheating. Inspection of the Wheel Hub Bearing: Use tools such as a jack stand and wheel chocks to securely lift the vehicle. Maintenance of the Wheel Hub Bearing: Before removing the wheel hub, prepare for maintenance by parking the vehicle securely and lifting the axle to ensure safety during the operation. Brake System Inspection: When inspecting the wheel hub bearing, also check the wheel braking mechanism. If there are oil stains on the inside of the tire, it is likely caused by leakage from the brake wheel cylinder or brake fluid line. The cause should be identified and addressed promptly.
