What causes the Passat B5 to shake when cold?

Passat B5 shaking when cold is caused by a dirty throttle body or excessive carbon deposits on the fuel injectors. Cleaning the fuel system and idle motor carbon deposits is recommended. Below are solutions for Passat B5 cold shaking: 1. Check the condition of spark plugs, high-voltage wires, and ignition coils. Poor performance of the ignition system or faulty spark plug firing can cause this issue. 2. If you've already cleaned engine carbon deposits, throttle body, replaced gaskets and spark plugs, but still experience body shaking at idle, it's advised to visit a 4S shop to check fuel supply pressure and intake pressure sensors. 3. Check fuel pressure and replace components if necessary. 4. Car shaking may also be related to aging engine mounts.
