What causes the jerking motion in electric vehicles?

When experiencing jerking during startup, especially during cold starts, it is usually due to a dirty throttle body. Carbon buildup can cause the throttle valve to operate less smoothly, affecting the accuracy of the air-fuel mixture parameters, or sensors may fail to provide accurate feedback to the servo system. Cleaning the throttle body can resolve this issue. Below are the main reasons for jerking during startup: 1. Excessive engine carbon deposits: In the case of a Passat, jerking during startup may be caused by excessive carbon buildup in the engine. Cleaning the throttle body primarily addresses unstable idle speeds and frequent stalling. Excessive carbon deposits in the combustion chamber can increase the engine's compression ratio, creating hot spots that lead to pre-ignition and knocking, shortening the engine's lifespan and significantly reducing its power and fuel efficiency. 2. Carbon buildup in the fuel injectors: Carbon deposits in the fuel injectors can cause uneven fuel distribution among the cylinders, leading to engine shaking or braking issues. When spark plugs are heavily fouled with carbon, they may leak electricity and fail to function properly, resulting in engine vibration. Excessive carbon buildup in the throttle body can cause unstable idling, reduced power, or even stalling. Additionally, it is necessary to check whether the idle control motor is also affected by excessive carbon deposits, contributing to these symptoms.
