What Causes the Engine Start-Stop Light to Flash?
1 Answers
The reason for the engine start-stop light flashing is due to a damaged clutch switch or battery negative sensor. The engine start-stop technology automatically shuts off the engine when the vehicle comes to a temporary stop during driving and restarts the engine system automatically when it's time to move forward again. Causes of start-stop system failure include: 1. Battery sensor malfunction; 2. Vacuum sensor malfunction; 3. Brake switch malfunction; 4. Electronic vacuum pump malfunction; 5. Start-stop system control circuit issues; 6. Start-stop switch malfunction. Note that the automatic start-stop function should not be used in waterlogged areas to prevent sudden stops that could allow water to enter the engine. Also, avoid using the start-stop system on slopes to prevent the vehicle from sliding.
