There are several reasons for the clicking noise when steering in reverse: 1. Friction: The rear-installed floor mats may be too large and directly contact the steering column, causing friction and noise as the column rotates. If the steering column lacks lubrication, it will produce friction sounds, requiring the application of lubricating oil. 2. Lack of lubrication in bearings: If the noise comes from outside the car when steering, it may be due to insufficient lubrication in the shock absorber's plane bearings. Open the hood to confirm if the sound originates from the top of the shock absorber. If the plane bearings lack lubrication, apply grease or replace the plane bearings.
