What Causes the Car Air Conditioning Compressor to Be Particularly Noisy?
1 Answers
Reasons for a particularly noisy car air conditioning compressor: 1. Poor tension in the compressor drive belt—if it's too loose, the electromagnetic clutch is prone to slipping; if too tight, the load on the electromagnetic clutch increases. Improper belt tension can cause abnormal noises. 2. Damaged electromagnetic clutch—the compressor often operates under high load, shifting from low to high speeds, and the electromagnetic clutch is frequently exposed to rain and dirt. When the bearings inside the electromagnetic clutch are damaged, abnormal noises occur. 3. Dirty or stuck throttle valve—when the air conditioning is on, the compressor starts working, driven by the engine. This increases the engine load, requiring the throttle valve to open wider to allow more air intake. If the throttle valve has carbon buildup or is stuck, it can cause engine vibration and abnormal noises, which become more noticeable when the air conditioning is turned on.
