What causes the abnormal noise when braking in the TACQUA?

The reasons for abnormal noise when braking in the TACQUA are as follows: 1. Metal hard spots on the brake pads: If there are tiny metal particles on the brake pads, they will produce a sharp noise when braking. You can try slamming the brakes a few times or grinding/replacing the brake pads to solve the noise issue. 2. Severely worn brake discs: If the car's brake discs have been used for too long, deep grooves will form on the friction surface of the brake pads, causing noise when braking. If the grooves are not deep, you can solve the problem by grinding the edges of the brake pads. If the grooves are deep, the brake discs need to be replaced.
Recently, my own car had a similar issue - that annoying squeaking sound when braking. After inspection, I found these main causes: the brake pads were too thin, causing the metal backing plate to directly rub against the rotor; or small stones/sand particles got stuck; it could also be rust on the rotors after rainy weather. Especially for urban SUVs like the Tharu, frequent stop-and-go driving really wears down brake pads. I recommend measuring your brake pad thickness immediately - if it's below 3mm, they need replacement. If the noise appears for a few days after car washing or rain then disappears, it's likely just rust and nothing to worry about.
