What Causes the Abnormal Noise from the Car Belt?

The abnormal noise from the car belt can be attributed to the following three reasons: 1. Aging of the Drive Belt: The drive belt is primarily made of rubber, which hardens and becomes brittle over prolonged use. This reduces the friction coefficient, affecting power transmission and leading to slippage. After prolonged slippage, the rubber softens due to friction-generated heat. 2. Insufficient Belt Tension: When the belt tension is insufficient, the belt is prone to slippage, similar to aging. Belts are automatically adjusted for tightness via a large spring mechanism that presses on the belt. If the belt is too loose, friction decreases, causing abnormal noise due to slippage. 3. Severe Belt Wear: When the car belt is severely worn, the contact area between the belt and the pulley significantly decreases. Even slight pressure can cause the belt to sink deeply into the pulley groove, making rotation strenuous and resulting in abnormal noise.
