What Causes Steering Wheel Noise When Turning Left but Not Right?

Specific causes of steering wheel noise: Turn signal reset sound: When turning the steering wheel while the turn signal is on, the noise may come from the automatic reset mechanism's spring clip, which is normal. Steering column dust cover noise: If the noise comes from below the steering wheel, it might be caused by the steering column dust cover. Lack of lubrication in the dust cover can create friction noise. Applying grease inside the dust cover can resolve this. Noise from inside the steering wheel: This could be due to the clock spring (airbag coil). Removing the steering wheel and applying grease to the clock spring can fix it. Note: Disconnect the airbag fuse before removing the steering wheel to prevent accidental deployment. Stabilizer bar noise: Loose or damaged stabilizer bar bushings can cause noise not only when turning but also on rough roads. Adding shims can address loose bushings.
