What Causes One High Beam to Be Bright While the Other Is Dim?

If one high beam is bright while the other is dim, it could be due to a bulb circuit issue or poor socket contact. Other possible scenarios: Generally, if one headlight is not working, it is often caused by a burnt-out bulb. If both headlights are not working simultaneously, it may be due to a blown fuse, both bulbs burning out at the same time, aging and broken wiring, or loose terminals. Solution: The vehicle's circuit fuse box is typically fixed under the engine hood, near the fender. The exact location varies depending on the car model. Locate the circuit fuse box, open the cover, and you will see various fuses and controllers for different electronic devices with different amperages. The back of the cover has a corresponding diagram to help you find the positions of the left and right headlight fuses. Use the included puller to remove the fuse and check if the contact points at both ends are melted.
