What Causes Ignition Delay?

Delayed ignition in cars is caused by poor fuel quality, carbon buildup, or dirty components. Poor fuel quality: If your car suddenly changes from starting normally to having delayed ignition, the first thing to consider is whether you've recently switched to gasoline with a different octane rating or from a different source. Carbon buildup or dirty components: Carbon deposits on the throttle body can affect the sensitivity of the throttle and air intake, causing delays or errors in the computer's signal transmission, which may prevent the vehicle from starting. The fuel injector nozzle is prone to accumulating sticky deposits that can obstruct normal fuel injection, leading to poor gasoline atomization. This results in ignition delay and makes the car difficult to start.
