Ford Focus idle vibration can be attributed to the following reasons: 1. Excessive or insufficient spark plug gap, excessive carbon buildup on spark plugs, damaged ignition coils, disconnected or leaking high-voltage wires are significant causes of vehicle vibration. For unstable idle, the entire ignition system should be inspected—sometimes simply replacing the spark plugs resolves the issue. 2. Excessive carbon deposits on the engine, throttle body, and fuel injectors are the primary cause of engine vibration. Since carbon deposits absorb gasoline, excessive buildup can lead to uneven fuel mixture concentration in the cylinders, resulting in particularly noticeable vibration during cold starts. Timely carbon cleaning can address this issue. 3. Idle vibration may also be related to aging engine mounts (also known as engine mounts or rubber mounts). Engine mounts, located between the body and the engine, are part of the vehicle's vibration damping system, absorbing minor vibrations during engine operation. If the engine mounts fail, their vibration damping effectiveness decreases, causing body vibration at idle. 4. Unstable fuel pressure can lead to inconsistent fuel mixture concentration, causing not only vibration but also unstable idle. Consider replacing the fuel filter first, as prolonged use may clog the filter element. Then check the fuel pressure after the filter; if abnormal, the issue may lie with the fuel pump.
