What Causes Excessive Consumption of Coolant in Sedans?
1 Answers
Excessive consumption of coolant in sedans can be attributed to the following reasons: 1. Radiator damage or poor sealing of the upper and lower water chambers, leading to coolant leakage; 2. Loose connections or poor sealing at the overflow tank, water pump joint surfaces, or various coolant system pipe fittings, resulting in coolant leakage; 3. Damage to the cylinder head gasket, excessive flatness deviation or warping of the cylinder head and block mating surfaces, or loose cylinder head fastening bolts, allowing high-temperature and high-pressure gases from the cylinders to enter the cooling system. The full name of coolant should be antifreeze coolant, meaning a cooling liquid with antifreeze properties. Coolant prevents the liquid from freezing in cold winter conditions, which could otherwise cause the radiator to crack or damage the engine cylinder block or head due to expansion.
