What Causes Engine Noise?

Here are the reasons for abnormal engine noise: Engine Mount Deterioration or Loosening: Engine mounts are rubber blocks placed between the engine and the frame. They are used to reduce vibrations during engine operation and secure the engine in place. Once the engine mounts deteriorate or become loose, the engine will shake, resulting in abnormal noise. Engine Misfire Noise: Engine misfire mainly refers to one or more cylinders not functioning properly. Common symptoms include: intermittent exhaust gas flow with noticeable pauses, severe shaking of the exhaust pipe, and clear abnormal engine noise. This phenomenon is often related to ignition coil failure. "Piston Slap" Noise: Due to poor lubrication conditions, excessive wear of the piston and cylinder walls causes the clearance between them to exceed normal tolerance levels. During engine operation, the piston skirt impacts the cylinder wall, producing a crisp "clanking" sound, which is usually more noticeable at idle or low speeds.
