What Causes Engine Abnormal Noise in Volkswagen Lavida?
1 Answers
Volkswagen Lavida engine abnormal noise is caused by aging or loosening of engine mounts, engine misfire noise, or "piston slap" noise. Aging or loosening of engine mounts: Engine mounts are rubber blocks placed between the engine and the vehicle frame. Their purpose is to reduce vibration and cushion the engine's operation, while also securing the engine in place. Once these mounts age or become loose, the engine will vibrate, resulting in abnormal noise. Engine misfire noise: Engine misfire mainly refers to one or more cylinders not functioning properly. The exhaust gas flow from the car will show obvious intermittency, and the exhaust pipe will shake violently. You can clearly hear a "popping" or thumping sound from the engine. This phenomenon is largely related to ignition coil failure. "Piston slap" noise: Due to poor lubrication conditions, excessive wear of the piston and cylinder wall causes the clearance fit tolerance between the piston and cylinder wall to exceed the normal range. When the engine is running, the piston skirt hits the cylinder wall, producing a clear "clanging" sound, which is usually more noticeable at idle or low speeds.
