What Causes Brake Pad Noise?
1 Answers
Reasons for brake pad noise: break-in period between brake pads and machinery; use of inferior brake pads causing disc wear; presence of hard spots in brake pads making braking feel laborious. Brake pads serve the braking function. In a vehicle's braking system, brake pads are the most critical safety components, as all braking performance is decisively influenced by them. When brake pads are newly installed, break-in noises may occur. At this point, the brake pads must be replaced immediately. If inferior brake pads are used, or if hard foreign objects enter between the brake pads and discs, abnormal disc wear can occur. Severely worn brake discs will also produce noise when braking. Prompt replacement is necessary. Some low-quality brake pads contain hard spots that generate noise. Typically, these wear away after some use. If braking feels laborious, it may indicate the pads have lost friction effectiveness, requiring immediate replacement.
