What Causes an Automatic Transmission Vehicle to Stall?
1 Answers
Reasons for automatic transmission stalling: 1. Electrical circuit failure: During driving, stalling may occur due to low-voltage power failure or quenching. In this case, primarily inspect the ignition switch, starter switch, fuse box, and low-voltage circuit short circuits causing intermittent stalling. Check the vehicle's low-voltage circuits. 2. Equipment failure: Typically issues with the ignition coil, capacitor, or electronic ignition module. The vehicle may start initially but stalls after a while, then restarts only to stall again. 3. Fuel system failure: Problems such as a damaged fuel pump, ruptured pipelines, clogged carburetor inlet, or empty fuel tank. Under these circumstances, the car may restart with difficulty. Additionally, issues with the ignition system, engine overheating, or anti-knock system can also cause stalling.
