What Causes Abnormal Wheel Pressure?

Abnormal wheel pressure is indicated by the tire pressure monitoring light illuminating due to prolonged driving with low tire pressure. This situation typically occurs when: a tire's pressure is too low, high-speed operation increases tire temperature, subsequently causing tire pressure to rise. In such cases, it is advisable to stop and rest promptly or replace the tire with a spare one. The normal range for car tire pressure is between 230 to 250kpa. Tire pressure standards also vary depending on the type of tire and the vehicle model, as different models have varying weights, heights, and tire sizes, thus requiring different tire pressures. Standard tires have a recommended pressure of 240kpa to 250kpa, while reinforced tires should be inflated to 280kpa to 290kpa.
