What Causes Abnormal Noise When Turning the Steering Wheel?
1 Answers
There are several reasons for abnormal noise when turning the steering wheel: 1. Loose stabilizer bar bushings, which can be resolved by adding shims. 2. Dirty power steering fluid, requiring timely replacement. 3. Abnormal noise from the turn signal rebound clip, which disappears when the turn signal is turned off. 4. Friction noise between the steering column and floor mat, caused by oversized floor mats directly contacting the steering column. 5. Faulty clock spring, caused by interference. Applying grease to the clock spring after removing the steering wheel airbag may help. If the noise persists, the clock spring needs replacement. 6. Lack of lubrication in the shock absorber top bearing, producing noise from outside the vehicle. Applying grease can resolve this issue.
