What Causes a Gasoline Engine to Stall When Accelerating?
1 Answers
Gasoline engine stalling during acceleration may be caused by a dirty or clogged air filter, or a dirty throttle body with insufficient opening, leading to inadequate air intake. This results in incomplete combustion of the air-fuel mixture and engine stalling. For such issues, it's best to consult professionals at a 4S shop. Precautions before starting the engine: 1. Avoid operating without coolant: Adding coolant after starting the engine may cause critical components like cylinder liners and cylinder heads to crack or deform due to sudden cooling. Similarly, pouring 100°C boiling water into a cold engine block may cause cylinder head or block cracking. 2. Avoid improper fuel supply procedure: The throttle lever should be set to the fuel supply position before starting, not during or after startup. Incorrect procedure may cause excessive unburned diesel in cylinders, forming carbon deposits.
