Tiguan is an SUV model, not a sedan, so it does not have a classification, but it is comparable to the Passat in terms of sedan grade. The Passat belongs to the A-segment. The TIGUAN Tiguan is equipped with two engines: 1.8TSI and 2.0TSI, which are powerful and fuel-efficient. Thanks to the high-pressure direct injection technology, the 2.0TSI engine delivers a maximum power of 147kW and a maximum torque of 280Nm. This engine reaches peak torque at just 1700rpm, combining the characteristics of small displacement with high power and low-speed high torque. The 1.8TSI engine in the TIGUAN Tiguan achieves a peak torque of 250Nm at 1500rpm, making it the only SUV in its class capable of delivering strong power right from the start. Paired with a 6-speed manual transmission or an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission, the power is better utilized, and emissions are more environmentally friendly. Compared to the prototype Volkswagen Tiguan, the new Tiguan has a 68mm longer body and a wheelbase of 2684mm.

Since I bought the Tiguan, I've found it particularly suitable for city driving. Its size is just right—not too big or too small, with a length of about 4.5 meters and a moderate height, making parking easy and hassle-free. It falls between small and medium-sized SUVs, leaning more towards the compact category. It's great for daily commutes and long-distance trips, with comfortable seats and a spacious enough trunk to fit large suitcases. Driving it feels smooth, with an average fuel consumption of around 8.5 liters, and maintenance costs are reasonable. Many people choose it because its size is just right for families—more flexible than large SUVs yet more spacious than small cars. The driving experience is stable, with good handling, and noise control on highways is decent. Overall, it's a practical and well-positioned mid-sized SUV.

The Tiguan SUV has a clear market positioning, falling into the compact SUV category with dimensions of approximately 4.5 meters in length and 1.8 meters in width, similar in size to popular competitors like the Honda CR-V. The space design is quite reasonable, featuring a five-seat layout with adequate rear legroom and a trunk capacity of around 400 liters. In terms of power, it offers a choice between a 1.5T or 2.0T engine, delivering smooth acceleration. It handles nimbly in urban areas and remains stable on highways, while also being easy to park. Overall, it stands out as a top performer among entry-level SUVs, offering high value for money and suitability for daily commutes. Compared to larger SUVs, it is more suitable for average families, striking a balanced compromise between size and functionality.

The Tiguan is a popular Volkswagen model, classified as a compact SUV with moderate dimensions suitable for both city driving and suburban outings. It offers easy handling, practical space, and convenient maintenance. With its good cost-performance ratio, it has firmly established itself in the SUV market.
